Croatia is set to divert migrants to Slovenia after Hungary announced it would close its border with the country, the interior minister said Friday.

"We are turning the route, the corridor, towards Slovenia," Ranko Ostojic told reporters.

Hungary earlier said it would close its border with Croatia, a major transit point for tens of thousands of migrants bound for northern Europe, at midnight (2200 GMT).
