A man allegedly planning an attack on churches was arrested in Paris, France's interior minister announced Wednesday, adding he was also suspected of having killed a woman near the French capital.

The man was arrested on Sunday, was known to intelligence services for wanting to go to Syria to fight with jihadists, and owned "an arsenal of several war weapons," Bernard Cazeneuve told reporters. It was unclear what the alleged link with the murdered woman was.
