A Palestinian tried to stab Israeli forces at a checkpoint in the occupied West Bank Wednesday and was shot dead, the army said, the latest violence since US Vice President Joe Biden arrived for a visit.

The incident took place at a checkpoint south of the town of Qalqilya. No Israelis were reported wounded.
