A Palestinian shot by Israeli police Wednesday after stabbing a patrolman with a screwdriver in annexed east Jerusalem's Old City died in hospital, police said.

"The terrorist died from his injuries" at a Jerusalem hospital, police spokeswoman Luba Samri said, around an hour after he lightly wounded the officer in the attack.
