Russia's ruling party on Sunday won 49.8 percent of the vote in nationwide legislative elections, partial results showed, as it is set to dominate a new parliament made up of Kremlin loyalists.
After 20 percent of the ballots in the party-list vote had been counted, President Vladimir Putin's United Russia was far ahead of all other parties, with the ultranationalist Liberal Democratic Party coming in second with 15.7 percent, according to results published by the central election commission.
