Suspected jihadists killed a policeman in a rare attack on a town near Mali's southern border with Ivory Coast on Wednesday, government sources told AFP.

A minister said on condition of anonymity that the "cowardly terrorists" killed the warrant officer in Misseni, while a local councillor said "30 jihadists" had briefly occupied the town's military camp and killed a policeman.
