Spain's anti-austerity party Podemos on Wednesday suspended negotiations with the Socialists over forming a government following inconclusive December elections.

Podemos made the announcement after an agreement between the Socialists and centrist party Ciudadanos. This agreement "prevents the possibility of forming a pluralistic government of change," Inigo Errejon, of Podemos, whose support is needed by the Socialists, told a news conference.
