Unilateral actions by European Union states  to stem the flow of migrants are "detrimental" to the bloc's solidarity, EU President Donald Tusk said on Thursday.

"Unilateral decisions without prior coordination, however understandable they are in a national context, are in fact detrimental to the European spirit of solidarity," Tusk said in Athens after talks with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras.
