US vows to live as good neighbors with Cuba

US Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday vowed the United States aimed to live "as good neighbors" with Cuba, but cautioned that the road to full relations remained "long and complex."

Speaking Spanish alongside his Cuban counterpart only hours after diplomatic ties were restored, Kerry said the United States "welcomes this new beginning in its relationship with the people and government of Cuba." But switching back to English, the secretary added that the move did "not signify an end to the many differences that still separate our governments."
