 US stocks powered to fresh records Thursday, with all three major indices posting new highs, after the European Central Bank extended its stimulus program.

At the closing bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was at 19,612.70, up 0.3 percent, its fourth straight record. The broad-based S&P 500 gained 0.2 percent to 2,246.04, while the tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index advanced 0.4 percent to 5,417.36.
