Federal Reserve policymakers voiced concerns about the impact of the slowing global economy, led by China, and the stronger dollar on the US economy last month, a Fed document showed Thursday. At the September 16-17 meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee, several participants were worried about downward inflation pressures from lower energy prices and the appreciation of the dollar, according to the minutes of the meeting. The FOMC decided it was "prudent to wait" for more information before raising the key interest rate from near zero. |
