Germany's powerful finance minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said Tuesday he feared a "phase of uncertainty" in Italy after Prime Minister Matteo Renzi's referendum resignation.

"Of course we are worried that there could be a phase of uncertainty," Schaeuble told reporters in Brussels when asked if he was worried about the situation in Italy and the country's vulnerable banks.
