Japanese consumer prices rose 0.1 percent in November year-on-year, official data showed Friday, as the government continues to battle years of deflation.

The slight gain in core inflation, which excludes volatile fresh food prices, came after the world's number three economy marked the third straight monthly decline in October in consumer prices, according to the internal affairs ministry.
