Writer Alexievich feels 'joy', Nobel win is for Belarus

Belarusian writer Svetlana Alexievich said Thursday she felt "personal joy" at receiving the Nobel prize for literature, dedicating the award to her ex-Soviet homeland.

"It's not an award for me but for our culture, for our small country, which has been caught in a grinder throughout history," she told journalists at a press conference in Minsk.
