\"Dexter\" showrunner Scott Buck said he\'d feel \"very uncomfortable\" about giving the titular character of the series a happy ending in the series finale. With just two episodes remaining in the Showtime series, cast and crew members of \"Dexter\" gathered at PaleyFest Thursday in Beverly Hills to talk candidly -- and cryptically -- about the show\'s end, NBC News reported. \"I don\'t believe a serial killer can walk happily into the sunset,\" said Buck, who oversees the day-to-day operation of the series. \"Otherwise, I would feel very uncomfortable about sending that message out that serial killers are great, they\'re fantastic and deserve happiness.\" When asked how she felt about starring in a possible spin-off of the show, Jennifer Carpenter, who plays Dexter\'s sister, Debra Morgan, replied vaguely, NBC News said. \"I played Deb from start to finish,\" she said. Carpenter and Yvonne Strahovski, who plays Dexter\'s love interest, Hannah McKay, both said fans will have a mixed reaction to the finale. \"I was surprised,\" Strahovski said. \"It\'s definitely emotional and unexpected. You\'ll see mixed reactions, I\'m sure.\" \"Some (fans) will (be happy), some won\'t, and some will be somewhere in the middle,\" agreed Carpenter. \"I\'m happy and that\'s all that matters,\" Carpenter joked.
