A slightly drop in mercury levels is expected on Thursday, so it will be partly cloudy with a chance for scattered showers in various parts of the Kingdom with southwesterly moderate winds, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) daily brief said.
Heavy rain is also expected in some regions, accompanied by thunder at times, the JMD said.
Maximum temperatures expected for today will reach 20 degrees Celsius in Amman,18 in the northern cities and 21 in the southern areas, dropping down to 8,12 and 11 degrees respectively. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 29 degrees Celsius and lows standing at 18 at night, the department noted.
The Kingdom will be affected by a depression over the weekend centered over southern Cyprus, pushing temperatures down and creating relatively cold and partly cloudy weather across the country with rainfall at times, the JMD further said.
Heavy rain is also expected at times, accompanied by thunder and hails causing floods in valleys and lowlands, while winds will be westerly to southwesterly moderate to brisk, the JMD added.
