The Kingdom on Thursday will be affected by a depression centered over Cyprus, pushing temperatures down and creating cold and partly cloudy conditions, with rainfall at times across the country.
According to the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), heavy rain accompanied by thunder and hail are also expected, causing floods in valleys and lowlands, while winds will be westerly brisk with gust at times .
Daytime temperatures expected for today in Amman and the northern cities will reach 14 degrees Celsius, dropping down to 8 in both areas, while in the southern governorates they will range between a high of 10 and a low of 6 degrees. The weather will be warmer in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 24 degrees and lows standing at 15, the JMD said.
On Friday, the country will remain under the impact of the depression with heavy rain accompanied by thunder and hail across many parts of the country, causing floods in valleys and lowlands.
A slight rise in mercury levels is expected to prevail on Saturday, but the weather will remain cold with partly cloudy skies and a chance for scattered showers at times in the northern, central and southern regions. The chances of rain will decrease at night, but with low horizontal visibility due to the formation of fog.
