Half of the Whistler ski resort will open this weekend, 13 days ahead of schedule. Five lifts will be open tomorrow at the resort and have opened early due to the heavy snowfall and cold temperatures which has created enough snow to ski and snowboard on. The Whistler Village and Creekside gondolas will be open along with three lifts higher up the mountain. Blackcomb Mountain will open as scheduled on 28 November. Scotland’s Caingorm Mountain opened last weekend, while Obergurgl in Austria opened on Wednesday. Source: Travel Daily
