As many as 447 samples taken from the area, which witnessed the sinking of a vessel loaded with phosphate a week ago, has tested negative, said a report by the Irrigation Ministry on Wednesday.

The Nile water is completely safe and valid for all uses, the report said.

A vessel loaded with 500 tons of phosphate sank in the Nile River in Qena last week.
