Alexandria and Dekheila straits were reopened for maritime movement after high waves subsided and strong winds eased, said the Alexandria Port Authority.

Alexandria Port Authority decided to close the navigation in the straits earlier Saturday due to bad weather.

The closure decision was taken to avoid any collision between ships and to guarantee safe navigation, authority head Abdel Kader Darwish said.
