Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa has participated in the Summit on Global Pact for the Environment, chaired by President of the Republic of France, Emmanuel Macron, in the presence of United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres, at the UN Headquarters in New York.

The summit aims to mobilize efforts to counter the growing threats to environment on the international level and to seek effective solutions to all environmental problems as well as to create a global charter for environment

The charter will be based on what has been achieved in this domain such as the Paris Agreement and Rio Declaration in order to come up with a legally binding accord that determines the basic rights regarding environment protection to be observed.
