Meeting

The Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE)'s President Dr. Mohammed Mubarak Bin Daina met a delegation from the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) accompanied with a delegation from the Japanese Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The meeting explored technical cooperation related to environmental service and maintenance, reduction of pollution, polluted-land reclamation industrial waste management, marine ecology protection, and energy saving as part of bilaterally agreed technical cooperation since the visit of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to Japan in March 2013 and also the visit of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to the Kingdom of Bahrain in August 2013.
The meeting discussed human resources training and development, transfer of expertise, know-how by Japanese experts, and common projects to apply technological solutions.
The Japanese delegation expressed JICA's readiness to organise field tours for SCE experts to specialised locations in Japan in order to inform them on technological solutions applicable in Japan, and to hold training courses on these solutions.
The SCE's Executive President said that the best form of cooperation would be for local experts from the SCE to work with Japanese experts in order to transfer knowledge and train Bahrainis, especially on the assessment of the environmental impact of projects.
