Pest management professionals from various countries discussed issues concerning pests at the two-day PestWorld East conference, which concluded on Tuesday. The conference took up issues ranging from diseases and dangers posed to homeowners, commercial food enterprises, and other businesses from pests, to the latest developments in effective pest control encouraging pest management companies to go in for the latest solutions so as to provide safer working and living environments for their communities. \"Attendees were treated to hands-on demonstrations, interactive discussions with professionals from more than a dozen countries, and lectures from renowned global leaders,\" explained Rob Lederer, NPMA\'s Executive Vice President. The conference was of particular relevance to professionals in the eastern hemisphere due to the extent of damage that pests can cause and the fact that pests can transmit diseases, including salmonella and E-coli, trigger asthma attacks, apart from damaging properties. It is important to the consumer that pesticides are applied by trained professional applicators who have the proper training, education and credentials which is the purpose of the conference. Pesticides can be hazardous to the general public if not properly applied by a professional, said the experts.
