Nile River in Aswan

Egypt and Sudan signed an agreement on Thursday to increase the revenues of the Nile River and building new projects serving both countries.

The deal was inked at the end of week-long meetings held by a joint technical committee that discussed preparations for the annual flood of the Nile.

Both sides agreed on a design for a hydro-meteorological network in the Nile Basin, Ahmed Baha, Egyptian member of the committee, said.

The network is expected to provide hydro-meteorological information needed for all water stations erected along the river, he added.
