Egyptian tons of waste

The adviser to the minister of environment said his ministry intends to recycle 30 million tons of agricultural waste to make use of it in some industries instead of throwing the waste in water canals.

In statements to MENA on Wednesday, Dr Hussein Abaza said such waste would become hazardous materials to the farmers if thrown into canals so it is important to use them as organic fertilizer.

He pointed out that such materials, if recycled and used by plants, could provide job opportunities for youth to contribute to solving the unemployment problem.
