Cairo - MENA
In an effort to solve the repeated water shutoff in New Cairo, Housing Minister Moustafa Madbouli has ordered that supply vehicles be stationed in harmed areas to meet water needs of citizens.
The vehicles will also fill reservoirs to ensure residents of New Cairo have water running through their taps, the minister said Tuesday, promising a breakthrough would occur soon.
Madbouli said he personally apologizes for the repeated shutoff.
He was inspecting a site where urgent action is taken to solve the water problem.
The president and prime minister are following up the water situation in Egypt, particularly New Cairo, Madbouli said.
"We are not embarrassed to apologize to our people residing in New Cairo for the repeated water shutoff," the minister said.
