Supporting Earth Hour Initiative for the 3rd consecutive year, Khidmah is making a pledge to sow 1000 plants or trees with the participation of its residents. Khidmah firmly believes that it has responsibility towards the sustainability of the environment. In a view to support Earth Hour, Khidmah has asked its residents to turn off their lights during Earth Hour and reduce their ecological footprints and in return, Khidmah will sow plants and trees in its residential communities to bring further sustainability to the environment. This initiative is in addition to carrying out Earth Hour activities in more than 50 Khidmah managed locations including Mosques in Western region, Government Clients’ buildings, villa communities, residential & commercial towers in Abu Dhabi, and residential towers in Dubai. The company will mobilize staff throughout all these developments and will turn off non-essential lights during Earth Hour. Also to promote the message to the youngsters of Khidmah managed residential communities, company has planned for Art Competitions and exhibition on the theme “I will if you will”, an inspirational contest in which via art, children will present their challenges to others in exchange for some environmental friendly actions. Abdulla Al Qamzi, the Managing Director of Khidmah, said “Khidmah encourages its team to work in a sustainable manner such as recycling activities at our communities through to the installation of motion sensors for lighting for our government clients. We are now also encouraging our residents to actively participate more in Earth Hour through our challenge.”
