Water leaked from a canal in Ashnin village in Minya was successfully drained by water suction cars, Head of Maghagha Municipality Sayyed Helmy said on Friday.

Eight feddans and 24 homes were affected by the leaked water, he added.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Solidarity in Minya Mostafa Abdullah said a committee was formed to estimate losses and provide financial aid for people affected.
