Thanks to a better than average Nile flood season this year, water reserves increased by roughly 95 billion cubic meters, Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Mohamed Bahauddin said on Monday. This is 15 billion cubic meters more than the shares of Egypt and Sudan, he said during a visit to the Upper Egyptian Assiut governorate. Water in Lake Nasser has so far reached 120 billion cubic meters which is enough to meet the needs of both Egypt and Sudan for a number of years to come, he said.
