A total of EGP 2 million were allocated to develop a water testing laboratory in Qalubiya that will start operation in May, Health Ministry undersecretary Mohamed Lasheen said.

The new lab will test drinking water chemically to ensure it is safe to health, the official said.

Health bodies have been testing samples of drinking water at different water stations across the governorate to ensure their fitness to consumption, he added.
