Minister of Petroleum Eng. Sherif Ismail has announced that as many as 6.230.000 housing units along Egypt are natural gas-powered.
The announcement came during the minister's inauguration of a natural gas-deploying project in the governorate of Ismailia.
The project comes in terms of the ministry's plan to replace Butagaz with natural gas since the first constitutes a huge burden to the state's budget with subsidies granted to this sector.
