Algiers - APS
Several energy cooperation projects between Algeria and Tunisia are under consideration, said Tuesday in Algiers Minister of Energy Youcef Yousfi at the end of a meeting with his Tunisian counterpart, Kamal Benaceur.
"We have discussed projects interesting the two countries in the field of energy, including the supply of the border towns, like Sakiet Sidi Youcef, with butane and natural gas," the minister told APS.
"I hope that this project will be achieved the soonest possible," said Yousfi.
As regards the joint venture operating in the hydrocarbon prospects in Tunisia and Algeria "Numhyd", Yousfi hoped that it would achieve "good results."
For his part, Tunisian Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining said that his meeting with Yousfi and the working session held between the officials of the two countries were an opportunity to "exchange views on energy projects."
"We have discussed oil, gas and renewable energy cooperation," he said.
The Tunisian minister, who is on a three-day visit to Algeria, will meet with Minister of Industry and Mining Abdesslam Bouchouareb and Minister of Trade Amara Benyounes.
