Arzew ammonia and urea complex

the Production in the ammonia and urea complex built in the petrochemical zone of Arzew in partnership between Sonatrach and a Company from Oman, will start during the first quarter of 2015, announced Tuesday in Oran, the Assistant Director General of the Company "Aljazairia el lil Omania Asmida" (AOA).
"We expect to launch the production in the complex and the commercialization phase during the 1st quarter of next year," Said Taibi said on the sidelines of a visit organized by the Sonatrach Group for the benefit of journalists.
The installations of this complex, composed of four plants forming two production lines are completed; the same source said who noted that complex is in the phase of mechanical and storage testing with a capacity of 150,000 tons, spread over two hangars. These structures of storage will be used for urea.
The complex, part of the Company "Aljazairia el Omania lil Asmida" (AOA) will produce ammonia converted to urea in a first step, with a capacity of 2.4 million tons.
Located on the eastern extension of the petrochemical zone of Arzew to Mers El Hadjadj, the complex occupies an area of 75 hectares. Built for a cost of $ 2.6 billion, this investment has contributed to the creation of over 550 direct jobs and more than 1,000 indirect jobs.
