Energy Minister Youcef Yousfi has invited Tuesday Chinese companies to get further involved in the achievement of the national energy development programme and to participate in the fourth call for tenders on the exploitation of hydrocarbons, said a Ministry's statement.
The minister, who received Chinese Ambassador to Algeria Yang Guangyu, presented the broad outlines of the energy development programme and the opportunities offered to Chinese firms.
During the audience, the two sides examined cooperation and partnership in the field of energy as well as the prospects for their development, the statement said.
Yousfi also expressed hope to establish partnership in the manufacturing of equipment related to oil and electricity industry.
For his part, the Chinese ambassador reiterated his country's willingness to enhance cooperation with Algeria in hydrocarbons sector and establish mutually beneficial strategic partnership, the statement said.
The two sides also examined the possibility of creating a joint venture in the manufacturing of drilling equipment, as well as the project of pneumatic production under consideration between a Chinese firm and the national hydrocarbon company SONATRACH.
Cooperation opportunities in petrochemical industry and in the production of photovoltaic panels, the statement said.
