Dubai Electricity and Water Authority

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has achieved significant progress in its vital project aiming to supply, extend and commission a 16 km main water transmission network from Jebel Ali to Al Quoz.

DEWA has completed 2.1 km accounting for 13 percent of the project, in line with its strategy and ambitious plans to support overall development by providing power and water services at the highest standards of availability, reliability, and efficiency. The Dh108 million project aims to support Dubai Vision 2021, and DEWA's continuous efforts to meet its customers' expectations.

"We are focused on strengthening Dubai's position as a global hub for trade, finance and tourism. DEWA implements vital infrastructure development projects as part of its strategy to increase the efficiency and reliability of water supply networks to meet growing demand in various areas of Dubai," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.

"The project includes extending a water transmission pipeline by a further 16km from Jebel Ali, through Al Khail Road, to the pumping station in Al Quoz. It also includes a remote control and monitoring system to enhance transmission capacity between Jebel Ali and the main pumping stations in Al Quoz. The project also includes connecting the main transmission lines in different locations to increase water flow and ensure the seamless availability of water. It is expected to be completed by September 2016," concluded Al Tayer.
