Cairo - MENA
The Petroleum Ministry is working on an integrated program to secure fuel supplies to the local market and improve services offered to citizens.
Minister of Petroleum Sherif Ismail said his Ministry is seeking to increase production at refineries and develop the infrastructure needed to transfer butane gas, especially during the winter.
Ports are being groomed to receive big containers that carry imported butane gas weighing 30,000 to 45,000 tons, Ismail said onTuesday, adding this also entails the establishment of linking lines and depots for storage.
Work is underway to extend a 7-kilometer pipeline from Dekhaila Port to Wadi el Qamar area in Alexandria, through which imported butane gas will be pumped, the minister said.
The Adibiya Port will also be receiving shipments of imported butane gas, he added.
