Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mohammad Shaker on Tuesday launched the operation of Ashmoun power transformers station at a capacity ratio of 66/220 kilo volts.
In statements after the operation of the station, Shaker said the project comes as part of expansions made at the electricity sector to upgrade the existing power networks to bear the increasing power needs.
Meanwhile, Head of the Egyptian Company for Electricity Transmission Ahmed Al-Hefni said the project has finally been operated after it faced many hardships for more than two years.
