Damascus - SANA
‘Syria Unites Us” volunteer team held a Ramadan fast-breaking banquet (iftar) for electricity sector workers in appreciation of their efforts and sacrifices while performing their duty to fix terrorism-damaged electricity grid and keep power on all across the country.
Deputy Minister of Electricity Nidal Qarmousheh, who took part in the banquet that was held Saturday, stressed that the workers, both technicians and administrative staff, have not been and will never be intimidated or disheartened to commit to doing their job by whatever heinous acts of terrorism perpetrated by the armed groups.
He hailed the great sacrifices electricity workers have made to maintain power in all areas working around the clock- with many losing their lives- to repair grid, high voltage lines and infrastructure sabotaged by terrorists, damages that caused recurrent power outages in various areas.
“This is an opportunity to honor those workers and express appreciation of all the efforts they have made throughout the war waged on Syria,” said Chief of the Board of Directors of “Syria Unites US” team.
