Dubai - WAM
The Federal Electricity and Water Authority, FEWA, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence, to promote and develop cooperation between the two parties in the areas of green applications and best practices to study and control underlying gases.
The MoU was signed by Mohammed Mohammed Saleh, Director-General of the FEWA, and by Waleed Salman, Chairman the Dubai Carbon Centre of Excellence, in the presence of a number of executive directors, directors of departments, and Abdul Rahim Sultan, UN and UNDP Special Advisor.
Saleh said that the signing of the MoU comes within FEWA's strategic commitment to promoting government policies to achieve sustainable development and support the green economy.
He pointed out that the two parties would study a number of proposals to raise awareness among FEWA staff and consumers alike about the role of FEWA and individuals to support government policies on the green economy, noting that a number of local cadres of FEWA would be trained to measure the carbon footprint of various FEWA operations to adjust and control gas emissions.
