Petra Solar, a company committed to serving energy providers with innovative approaches to renewable energy generation, the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA), Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), and Caspian Energy Holdings, announced an agreement to distribute 5 megawatt of solar energy to Awali, University of Bahrain, and some other areas in Bahrain. This project will be one of a series of smart solar technology, which was developed in the United States of America through Petra Solar, using a secure method that works on the stability of electricity distribution network, and finding a number of technical jobs in Bahrain. This project, which is implemented as a result of a cooperation between American alliance companies, NOGA, BAPCO, Electricity and Water Authority, universities, industrial sector, and the government, reflects Bahrain’s commitment towards the challenges of providing energy, climate change, and economic development through cooperation. Energy Minister and NOGA Chairman Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, quoted by Bahrain News Agency, said that this project, implemented in Awali, is the first step within a series of initiatives done by NOGA, in order to diversify sources of energy required to ensure a sustainable development in Bahrain. After the success of this test project, Dr. Mirza said he expected more projects in the near future.
