Sendai plant

A Japanese city assembly approved the restart of two reactors near an active volcano on the southern island of Kyushu Tuesday, paving the way for the first resumption of a nuclear power plant since regulations were updated following the atomic disaster in 2011, dpa reported.
The city assembly of Satsumasendai in Kagoshima prefecture adopted a motion in favour of reactivating the Sendai Nuclear Power Station, 1,000 kilometres south-west of Tokyo. The two-rector plant operated by Kyushu Electric Power Co is expected to be brought back online as early as the start of 2015.
