Solar-powered fueling station

Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) for Marketing and Planning Shukri Al-Mahrous unveiled here on Sunday that Kuwait has plans to build 100 solar-powered fueling stations.
The 100 stations would be built in five years; 20 every year, Al-Mahrous told reporters on the sidelines of his participation in the KNPC's annual meeting with contractors, which kickstarted here earlier in the dya.
He pointed out that the first 20 stations are expected to start operation by 2017.
The plans come within the framework of the KOC's efforts to increase reliance on renewable energy in generating electricity, he said.
