Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is currently on a visit to Bahrain, met here today Energy Minister Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza
They reviewed the outcomes of recommendations of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's visit to Pakistan in March, 2014.
They discussed areas of cooperation in the field of energy, especially regarding the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries on the sidelines of HM the King's visit.
They also reviewed investment opportunities in the energy sector.
The Pakistani Prime Minister said that investment opportunities in the oil, gas and electricity were very encouraging.
Nawaz Sharif extended sincere thanks and gratitude to HM the King for his proposal to set up a special fund to finance energy in which the two countries contribute, noting that the initiative will motivate investors to invest in the energy sector, including the construction of electricity production stations in Pakistan
The Pakistani delegation submitted a draft memorandum of cooperation in order to reviewed by the relevant sides in the two countries.
CEO of the Bahrain Oil and Gas Holding Company Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and the Secretary-General of the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA) Dr. Ahmed Al Sharyan attended.
