The expected shortage between electricity production and consumption reached 950 megawatts, said the electricity observatory at the Electric Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency.
The expected maximum power load on Wednesday is 23,250 megawatts, the observatory said.
Egypt is trying to reduce the consumption of electricity as many people complained last summer about daily power cuts.
