Moscow - KUNA
Russia on Friday called for convening an immediate meeting grouping officials of the six-nations group on the Iranian nuclear crisis with Iran. Russian deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in a statement quoted by the Interfax news agency that Russia proposes convening of a meeting grouping representatives of the countries concerned with the Iran file with Iran in October to discuss the nuclear crisis. Ryabkov stressed the necessity of holding such a meeting, expressing regret for the lack of understanding of the Western countries to the Russian invitation to convene an urgent meeting in this regard, saying the other channels of communication with the Iranians were not fully functioning. He attributed the urgency of his country to hold this meeting to the election campaigns in the United States and Iran, which would complicate the negotiating process.
