Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received during his visit here the deputy chairman of the Total gas company, said presidential spokesman ambassador Alaa Youssef Thursday.
In press statements, he added that the French side demonstrated during the meeting keenness on operating in Egypt and pumping more investments into the Egyptian market.
He added that Egypt comes first on the list of African countries where Total is operating and third at the international level after Germany and France.
President Sisi asserted at the meeting keenness by the Egyptian government to enhance the energy sector to meet the growing needs of the Egyptian public.
The president further explained that Egypt is seeking to diversify its resources of power production atop of which comes renewable energy resources, added the spokesman.
For his part, the French official said that his country is keen on investing in Egypt, adding that the company is planning to increase its activities in Egypt in the coming period.
He hailed recent economic decisions adopted by the Egyptian government, especially those related to rationalizing subsidy offered to the power sector in a bid to redress the imbalance of energy subsidy and pricing.
Meanwhile, the president, added the spokesman, granted the French paper Le Figaro an interview where he reviewed the recent developments in the local arena at the economic and political levels. He also expounded the Egyptian view regarding several regional and international issues.
