Costs of the main power transformer station north west of Sulaibikhat have exceeded KD 10 million (US 35.37 million), Minister of Public Works and Minister of Electricity and Water Abdulaziz Al-Ibrahim, has said.
Following an inspection tour at the site on Thursday, Al-Ibrahim said that the project there includes four power stations to feed the area with electricity, adding that work is being carried out in line with schedule.
The four stations are expected to start operations by the end of the year.
According to the Minister, the power amount allocated for the west Sulaibikhat region hits 360 megawatt. He urged consumers to carry on with power rationalisation through the rest of the summer season.
The Minister expected the coming weeks till the end of the summer to "pass safely" with no power trouble, thanks to a positive response from consumers to the rationalization campaign.
