Turkey\'s total electricity consumption was measured as 18.8 billion KWh in February Turkey\'s electricity consumption reduced by 6 percent, amounting about 19 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), in February when compared to February 2012. Turkey exported about 625.6 million kWh electricity last month. Parallel to the lower consumption rates, electricity output was down by about 27 percent at thermal power plants and by 21.5 percent at hydroelectric plants, according to the reports by Turkish Electricity Transmission Company (TEIAS). Meanwhile, electricity consumption in January and February was measured as 3 percent less than consumption rates of the same period of last year, which was about 40 billion kWh in total.
