Abdullah al-Akwa

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Electricity Abdullah al-Akwa has met in the Tunisian capital Tunis with Tunisian Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa.
The meeting dealt with the cooperation between the two countries in the energy area and other areas, as well as the developments of the political settlements in each of Yemen and Tunisia.
At the meeting, al-Akwa reviewed the latest developments at the Yemeni arena and the efforts being exerted by President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi to move forwards to implement the national dialogue conference (NDC) outcomes and the completion of the political settlement based on the GCC - brokered initiative and its mechanism.
He affirmed that the dialogue and consensus in Yemen was the option agreed upon by all political forces to address the situation the country has experienced since 2011 in order to avoid sliding into a raging civil war.
The minister al-Akwa pointed out that the Yemeni government wants to benefit from the Tunisian experience in the field of energy, especially the renewable and solar energy, expressing his admiration for the tangible developments in Tunisia in the field of renewable energy.
For his part, the Tunisian prime minister praised the Yemeni-Tunisian relations, expressing his pride in Yemen's unique experience in the peaceful transfer of power and the great success archived in this field.
Jomaa emphasized the importance of promoting the cooperation relations between the Yemeni and Tunisian institutions in order to develop the research of renewable energies use.
