A Kuwaiti official said a ministerial meeting about climate change that was wrapped up in Abu Dhabi on Monday highlighted the dangerous phenomenon and importance of reducing harmful gas emissions. Rajaa' Al-Busairi, Acting Director General of the Environment Public Authority (EPA), said the fact that Minister of Oil and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs Dr. Ali Omair headed Kuwait's delegation to the meeting reflected the country's interests in this vital issue. Al-Omair is also Chairman of the Supreme Environment Council. Al-Busairi said ongoing efforts to finding practical solutions over renewable energy to address climate change would minimize lethal impacts on the environment. She added the meeting was an opportunity to prepare for the Climate Change Summit that would be held in New York on September 24. The EPA official said many negative impacts of the climate change could be prevented if the world acted "collectively and seriously."
